7 miles

Before anyone starts fearing I’ve abandoned this site, be assured I did not. What happened was my decision to lay off running for a while, then spending more time with my computers in the name of spring cleaning, next thing, I got myself immersed in computer programming, to the point of deciding to enroll in Computer Engineering (I have an AS in Programming which is very different from my real profession of PT) and one ting led to another. I opened up old programs I should not have opened because my computers started crashing left and right…. Are you following my story here? So – the overall impact of all this is curtailment of running and weight lifting and all the other stuff I love doing. Don’t you wish to have extra time and energy to do all the things you want to do?

To summarize, my work-out since that 180 minute run was a paltry two short runs last week. And so far, since Sunday, I was able to run a 6 miler and a 7 miler in 4 days. This is good so far. I am trying to get back into the groove. So there – 7 miles today.

180 minute slow run

I want to re-build my aerobic base.I am increasing the time of my long runs. No speed play, this is a simple jogging mode that lasted longer than usual.

It hurts though.

Computer Day

I finally solved the slow IE. It had nothing to do with IE itself but the programs competing with each others as they tried to get a piece of IE pie. Between Google and Yahoo trying to get my attention by getting their bars right there on the toolbar and there is Messenger that runs every time IE opens, heck, every time I open a window, all these are like heavy items dragging the IE to the point of freezing on me. Of course I love Google and Yahoo but I can click on them when I want to. Man, after fixing all my desktops today, I am just so pooped.

And I also bought a 1 gig RAM for one of my desktops. It's been that long - I realized today it only had a 512 MB RAM. And I thought 512 was so awesome when I bought it years ago.

A day - off

It is Saturday now. It is a day-off for me. Yesterday I planned so many activities for today only to sleep until 9 am. I planned to run early morning, I planned to drive to Fort Lauderdale to check out some places only to wake up late and worse, i started tinkering with one of my desktops that's playing tricks on me. It's Windows 2000 and its Internet Explorer is the slowest I've seen in my life despite my Broadband. The first step, obviously, was to upgrade it, only to find that Win 2000 is no longer designed for the latest IE (for 6 upwards) so what to do? It is slow and it freezes every time I try opening a second window.

It is not Windows 2000 that is problematic, it is IE. So --- all I need is to switch to another browser. I downloaded and installed Firefox and man, am I happy right now :)

I was seriously considering to buy XP or Vista, but I already have those in my other units.

100 minutes, running in Park
