Rest/Sleep

Yeah, I really need it now. I am turning off the lights and saying g'night.

75min treadmill am, 60 min leg work-out pm

For today, I did a treadmill run in am for approximately 75 minutes and after work I did leg work-out for another hour while listening to the book 'Outlier' in my Ipod.

I've also been looking closer and closer to exercise/health/fitness subjects via internet and it seems these are the areas I am more interested now to pursue if I were to return back to school to study a subject. I'm still in the planning stage and as much as I wanted to pursue a non-medical related field, my finances won't be sufficient. After looking at possible Law schools in Florida, I was 'shocked' by how much it would cost and how bad the employment prospects are. Then I started looking at other Graduate fields in Sciences like Economics and so far, they are meeting my budget and my available time. But do I really have the brain power to get into deep thinking? Now that I focus so much on personal exercise and my running and possibly triathlon, I am starting to veer towards a study in areas of sports and exercises. So, my first step is get certifications. That would be a strating point. But I am still planning on studying for GRE and GMAT and LSAT just for the heck of it.

gym work-out, uppers, 1 hour

i did my upper strengthening today. i was so pooped from work but i managed pretty good. my right elbow is a little uncomfortable. i think i overdid my triceps today. tomorrow will be cardio.

Been a while

I did a 5k Sunday morning. I accompanied a friend who did it the first time. Then I went straight home to catch up on sleep. I've been busy the whole week and week-end, doing some mental work (yeah, I'm preparing for GRE and LSAT and GMAT just for the heck of it). I am hoping to get into graduate school and for now, at least for this year, I am mentally preparing for the admission exams. I am interested in Law, Economics and Computer Sciences. I am also thinking of graduate studies in the field of Exercise Physiology or Health and Fitness. Or a DPT in my profession. At my age, I'd just take anything that comes along. So, my blogs are getting a little slower in coming.

Anyway I went to Barnes and Noble today and bought some health (among others) books.

Chasing Life

2 out of 3

I did the Miami half Marathon today with at least 35000 participants. I am pretty sure it was crowded because after 5 miles, I was still trying to wade my way through the crowd. I don't care what time I finished, it's almost the same as Palm Beach, what mattered was I truly enjoyed this race, which, for the first time in my life I finished sprinting because, I had no cramps. It was the first time I had no major cramps and I even felt I could still run another mile or so after the finish. I was surprised! Oh Lord, I was smiling and waving and outrunning the others toward the finish line, I was spectacular (in my own mind). Afterwards, Mario, Matt and I strolled around South Beach the ate the finest breakfast at Lincoln. It was a most wonderful race day. Next will be Fort Lauderdale Half.
